1. Who we are
SkillHawks is a talent and people advisory brand of SkillHawkz Inc., a company registered in Canada (“SkillHawkz Inc.”, “we”, “us”). For the purposes of applicable data protection law, SkillHawkz Inc. is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at info@skillhawks.com.
2. Information we collect
- Information you give us through our enquiry form (name, work email, company, country, the service you are interested in and an optional message) or when you book a call.
- Candidate information that you or a client share with us during recruiting work, such as CVs, employment history and references.
- Technical information needed to deliver the website securely, such as server logs. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
3. How and why we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, schedule calls, deliver advisory and recruiting services, meet legal obligations and keep the website secure. Under the EU GDPR and UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases, depending on the purpose: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing a contract; our legitimate interests in running and improving our business; compliance with legal obligations; and your consent, for example for optional cookies.
4. Service providers
We use the following service providers, which process personal information on our behalf and under contract:
- Calendly: handles call bookings. When you follow a booking link, Calendly also processes your information under its own privacy policy.
- GoDaddy, our website hosting provider: serves this website, keeps standard server logs for security, and processes enquiry form submissions, which are sent to us by email from our own website. We do not use a third-party form service.
5. International transfers
We work with organizations in the United Kingdom, Australia, India, North America and elsewhere, so personal information may be transferred between countries. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authorities.
6. Retention
We keep enquiries and call booking details for up to 24 months, and then delete them. Other personal information, such as candidate information shared during recruiting work, is kept only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as long as the law requires.
7. Your rights
- EU GDPR and UK GDPR: the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
- Canada (PIPEDA): the rights to access and correct your personal information and to withdraw consent, and the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): the rights to know, delete and correct personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. This website does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Australia (Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles): the rights to access and correct your information, and to complain to us and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@skillhawks.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time and will post the revised version on this page.
